Everyone knew, but this week DISNEY Powers let it be known: They have a new Execie - and, he’s gay. Big whoop. Disney’s always tripped the strobe-fantastic, on the lighter side of film fare, including Gay Disney Days, but what QFS knows - this was a very well-placed move. Read on.

Once prexy of Disney Channels Worldwide, Rich ROSS has been upped to run Walt Disney Studios. QFS Six. In our world [features] that means, icing on the top of major Film cake. Why? In the entertainment world, there’s somewhat of a caste system albeit, spoken only by those in the know. (Some, believe television should be produced within strict guidelines [attend any feature set with varied crew and you’ll discover this is true] and the rest, it’s feature production all-the-way with industry feature production guidelines.)
When someone moves into feature ranks, it’s a big deal. And quicksilverfunsugar, we let you in.
Rich Ross, acclaimed tv executive not only pulls switchback to motion pictures but he does with the support of Dreamworks [Steven Spielberg, Stacy Snider]. Who do you think was responsible for the Disney Tween programming explosion? That’s right.

“Steven and I are totally supportive of Rich… he… is extraordinary. You can’t help but notice the creativity and the robust effort that has gone into making that brand ubiquitous.”
QFS Six Squared. Ross has helmed the Disney Channel, for the past 13 summers. Ross incarnated the force that’s now the genius behind young stars and ratings including Miley CYRUS, “Hannah Montana,” “High School Musical,” and the Jonas Brothers.
So he’s got a life-partner, Adam Sanderson, is 47, lives up the street in Hollywood Hills and keeps close-knit relations with ex-roommate, from Fordham Law, and his kids. What we know: Ratings and Tickets, equals the marksman that’s Rich.

The Hobbit
Just a short while ago the estate of J.R.R. TOLKEIN was all in a dither, due to the query of which ‘estate’ would continue with the ‘rights ‘ to the Tolkein literary-vanguard, and its multi-media profit(s).

And what about Del Toro’s new shingle…
Quicksilverfunsugar snapped the haps within it’s report on Disney’s D23 , its own “Comic-Con,” and what was revealed soon after shook up the ranks.
Flash forward. Guillermo Del Toro’s partnered with Disney and under the production co., Disney Double Dare, the first flick out from the partnership and mind of Del Toro, Trollhunters .
“I love to take audiences into fantastic new worlds and provide them with some anxious moments in the process. It is part of the Disney canon to create thrilling, unforgettable moments and villains… It is my privilege… to continue in this tradition,” Del Toro shared.
In other words, he’s going to scare the pants off us all! All in the day of infamy…
The adaptations of the Lord Of The Rings prequel, The Hobbit, in two separate movies, are due December 2011 and 2012.
